To prepare myself for the future. I just know XML is the future in data packaging and transfer technology. Even as I type this, I know the future is here.

| Did you have any experience with XML prior to taking the exam? |
No. I came across a book, XML 1.1 Bible by Elliote Rusty Harold(3rd Edition), and fell in love with XML. So I decided to take the exam. Though the book was not written for the purposes of taking the exam but it sure pointed the way and gave me the initial courage I needed.

| How much time did you put into studying for the exam? |
Approximately eight weeks.

XML 1.1 Bible by Elliote Rusty Harold (3rd Edition)is truly a bible, but the most helpful study tool I used is the "XML Master Tutorial" on the XML Master's Website(http://www.xmlmaster.org/en/preparation.html). XML master basic exam is a practical exam, you need the professionals to show you the basics. It is the little things that can make you or brake you in this exam. Trust me.

You need to study namespaces, schema, dtd, xslt very well and know them well and then practise with some test questions(these questions may not be close to the actual questions, they still help). If you did all this, then you have got no problems.
