XML Master Success Story : Erwin M. Macaraig
|
What was the purpose of your taking the exam? |
I was doing a project on web services. The heart of interoperability between heterogeneous systems is XML. So for me to gain, apply and mostly to validate my XML skills, I registered for the XML Master Basic exam. |
Did you have any experience with XML prior to taking the exam? |
I have experience in creating XML documents but other related XML technologies, I have none. |
How much time did you put into studying for the exam? |
I was running on two jobs during the time I was reviewing for the exam, that is why it took me 3 months to review for the exam, during Saturdays and Sundays only. |
Let us know about any books, seminars or other preparation tools you used to study for the exam. |
I read Wrox Beginning XML and Wrox Professional XML. For web resources, I reviewed the materials found in xmlmaster.org as well as the practice exams found there and http://w3schools.com/ |
Please share any post-exam thoughts or advice for those who will be taking the exam. |
The XML Master Basic exam covers practical knowledge in XML. The skills that I learned while reviewing for the exam have equipped me for most of my web development work. For those planning to take the exam, I suggest that you practice coding XML and try to do examples on your own. This will help you alot in answering the questions found in the exam. |
