XML Master Success Story : Carles Poles-Mielgo
|
What was the purpose of your taking the exam? |
I passed XML Basic last month and I just passed XML Master Professional Application Developer. |
Did you have any experience with XML prior to taking the exam? |
Yes, I have working with XML for over 10 years.
|
How much time did you put into studying for the exam? |
Experience certainly helps a lot: XML and also programming in C# and Java. Then, you have to study for the exam to narrow down the specifics: around 20 hours for the Basic and 20 more for the Professional exam. |
Let us know about any books, seminars or other preparation tools you used to study for the exam. |
I have taken several XML courses over the years though UC Berkeley Extension and UC Santa Cruz Extension. There are a lot of good books on XML, but if somebody is looking for something down to earth, for beginners and to make sense of what XML is and its implications, I would recommend "An ABC of XML Tags" by Jonathan Price. Besides that, probably the best know book on XML: "The XML Handbook" by Charles Goldfarb and Paul Prescod. |
Please share any post-exam thoughts or advice for those who will be taking the exam. |
For those taking the Master exam, programming experience in Java is highly recommended. |
